• Tonglen requires an outlined schedule of the facilitators event two weeks prior to your retreat as to coordinate its staff for the enjoyment of your guests.

• Requested chef's/catering company information to be provided to Tonglen as to liasie with each other about specifications for your retreat. 

• A 4x4 is needed to drive up to the farm and takes approximately 45 minutes. It is a rough drive - we encourage you to embrace this as part of the fun and adventure, and enjoy the view along the way. There is a 4x4 shuttle available, it can take 8 guests at a time.

• We offer 2 shuttles up and 2 shuttles down in the rates, thereafter a shuttle is charged at R400 a trip.

• Tonglen highly suggests scheduling your attendees in groups when meeting the shuttle at our parking area. The best idea is to use a place in Dullstroom to meet and then have two groups two hours apart as to not create any issues for your guests.

Important! 

• Our  shuttles work on a two hourly rotation basis. Any use of the shuttle outside of the one/two agreed upon transfers will be charged for accordingly. 

• There is no electricity on the property. We run a lister engine that provides lights and plug points to charge cell phones from 8 – 10 am and from 7 – 9 pm. If you have a battery pack please bring it along, as you’ll want to take lots of photos of the beautiful property.

• Please encourage your guests to bring power banks to the farm with them, this will save some people unnecessary aggravation

• The centre is a self-catering venue

• Please contact a chef or catering company for your retreats direct 

• The centre has a fully functional communal kitchen, which is stocked with all basic cooking and serving equipment.

• Showers are heated by donkeys (a fire-heated geyser.) The donkeys will be heated at a specific time for you to have a hot shower

• The region is experiencing a drought, so guests are asked to please use water sparingly.

​

• Our tap water comes straight from the mountain so we ask you to enjoy it. We ask that your guests bring refillable bottles as to reduce the waste of plastic.
